I led Community Development at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland alongside an incredible team of people devoted to research, outreach and programming that seeks to advance the economic mobility and resilience of lower income communities in the U.S. and in particular the Fourth Federal Reserve District (Ohio, eastern KY, western PA, northern WV).

Greater New York City Area

Managed $40 million+ annual grantmaking portfolio designed to support more inclusive and resilient cities and economies. A small but important portion of that work was devoted to defining, promoting and measuring inclusive economies, with particular attention to cities and regions in the U.S. Themes included: social equity as core to a city's resilience.

Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area

In collaboration with more than fifty funding partners, I led the Fund's research and program evaluation that helped guide more than $10M in strategic investments in business development, workforce and infrastructure in Northeast Ohio. Developed and syndicated economic growth goals for region, as well as a framework to track progress in partnership with.

Boston, MA

Designed an evaluation plan to measure the economic impact of cross-sector collaborations (public, private, non-profit) in small, industrial cities in New England over time. Aim was to help identify the extent to which winning cities were successful in building social capital and a culture of collaboration into their "way of working," beyond program.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Tracked economic performance, jobs and poverty trends in U.S. metro areas in 2008 recession and recovery, with focus on changing demographics and geography of poverty across various types of communities in the U.S. (suburban, urban, ex-urban, rural, etc.) Analyzed effects of things like earned income tax credit (EITC), unemployment insurance (UI) and food.

Graduate Fulbright fellowship at Colegio de México. My research focused on the decline of manufacturing and the growth of service sector in the sprawling metropolitan area of Mexico City, and its relationship to income inequality.
