AECOM Middle East Limited is the main consultant for project R1048 – Improvements of Expo 2020 Roads Network – Contracts 1,2,3,4 and 5. Expo Roads Network is the significant component of Dubai Expo 2020, which is to provide all traffic movements for the 300,000 visitors per day for the Expo Event, as well as for the Expo Legacy in 2030. The total contract value is around AED 3.6 Billion, which is equivalent to US Dollars 980 Million. The contract 3 will be terminated at the crossing of Jebel Ali – Lehbab Road and Academic City Road and at this location a full cloverleaf-grade separated interchange will be constructed. The works initially consist of construction of 9 post–tensioned box girder bridges with a total length of 3.21 km including Collector-Distributer Roads and Directional Ramps and 2 km 6-lanes dual carriageway, with inner and outer shoulders separated by a guard-rail. As well as widening of existing 4.4 km 4-lanes road to 6-lanes dual carriageway.

The Total Length of road is 5000m content of Five bridges with total length of 1800m 40m width and spans 40m and three tunnels.The Nile crossing is post tensioned Concrete bridges (Total length 230 m with Spans (1*105+2*62.5ms)and a Width of 41.2m the cross section is Four box Sections (5.8m bottom Width and from 2.65 to 5.5ms height) navigation height 16m. Executed by using Cantilever Carriage Form Traveler (5m Length).The Approach bridges are continuous spans with average span length of 40m, total length is 564m and the width is 42.2m the cross Section is four box Sections (4.0m bottom Width and 2.25m height)
