I have 30 years of experience in animal training, veterinary care and animal welfare, and am currently working as a Training Behaviour Advisor and Qualified Guide Dog trainer.In my early career I lead the Equine and Large Animal Department as Head Nurse at a veterinary practise. After qualifying as an Assistant Instructor at the British Horse Society (BHS) in 1998, I travelled to Hong Kong to re-school retired race horses and compete globally in show jumping and eventing. I then moved to Zambia where I focused on improving zoos and educating keepers on animal welfare and care, then later to South Africa taking part in conservation studies. For 16 years I was the Manager of Small Animals and Birds and Head of Media Training Projects at Heythrop Zoological Gardens. I have presented at multiple international animal training conferences, and have created and delivered workshops for problem solving on animal behaviour.I have in-depth knowledge and skills across over 60+ different species allowing me to earn a Distinction in Higher Diploma in Animal Behaviour. I am an expert in operant conditioning and emphasising positive reinforcement. I have successfully delivered 300+ animal training projects for the media.
