I've labored in restaurants since I was old enough to work, but I've been writing since I could hold a pen. While cooking isn't my passion, it's taught me many things that have transferred well to what is - writing. I love every aspect of writing; from initial concept creation to the last-minute delicate touches of editing, I take joy in each moment.Restaurant work has provided me with countless skills and defining features, such as incredibly thick skin and the constant pursuit of perfection and improvement. But above all, it taught me to multitask in any environment while keeping my head clear - even in the chaos of a brewery kitchen on Friday night. Meanwhile, my academic writing career has taught me that I can always learn more and how to do it effectively. It taught me countless professional skills, but the habits it instilled have made me more efficient at anything to which I put my mind.
