Worked closely with writers on research-heavy stories to conduct examination and analysis of public records. Also worked in Modern Healthcare’s publishing platform, laying out each story for the web version and performing basic HTML functions.

Managed the feature well of Echo, which had a circulation of 30,000 copies across the city. Contributed a feature story on the history and current status of graffiti art in Chicago, as well as smaller back-of-book stories. Edited and provided feedback on all feature stories published in the winter 2013 issue.

Reported on the rising startup scene in Chicago. Duties involved attending startup events, conducting interviews, researching new stories and writing weekly articles for the publication.

Responsible for writing two stories per week for the metro section of the Columbia Chronicle. Spoke with different Chicago city leaders, including several Chicago aldermen and organization heads. Utilized InDesign to lay out my own stories and edited some of my colleague's articles each week.
