One of the first four Staff Product Designers at Datadog. I move between teams frequently and specialize in vision-setting, working fast, and communication. I’ve led over 20 meetings with leadership, including the CEO.• Helped to define Datadog's north star vision for AI. Worked with leadership to create all AI-related demos for the DASH 2024 keynote, from concept to script to presentation. Led 4+ executive reviews during the project.• Led the design and approval process for a new Monitor status page, one of the top 5 most viewed pages. Successfully handed off the project to a Senior Designer.• Launched Powerpacks, featured in Datadog's Dash 2022 conference. Powerpacks introduced a reusable component system to Dashboards. I helped pitch this project and led design on it from start to finish.

Released a new dashboard layout system, a major milestone for the most viewed product in Datadog.• Hired and managed a team of three while still contributing as an IC to dashboards.• Worked with engineering teams across the company to migrate Datadog's "out of the box" dashboards to use the new layout system. Wrote public documentation and best practice guides.• Presented on the dashboards release at a company all-hands event and in the first ever design-focused "Datadog On" video, a public series of one hour interviews about new features.• Wrote guidance for Datadog's design system on how to create good loading states. Worked with engineers across teams to improve loading states in their products.• Redesigned the "big number" widget on dashboards, the 2nd most common type, to display larger and clearer at different sizes and with different units.

Brought on to own design for dashboards. Worked closely with engineers, PMs, and leadership on a new dashboard layout system. Worked closely with product to develop OKRs and long-term vision. Led review meetings with leadership, including the CEO.• Designed complex interactions like lasso-to-select. Worked in partnership with engineers in a cycle of testing, code iteration, and stakeholder review.• Introduced new components to the style guide like a color picker, an email design template, and a new class of buttons.

One of two designers - I focused on Glitch's easy-to-use web IDE. Also designed and branded Glitch’s paid product: boosted apps.• Initiated organizational change, persuading leadership to form a new, separate team for design. Co-led the hiring process for a Design Director, succeeding in two months. Assisted in hiring two more designers over the following six months.• Responsible for researching and writing design briefs for projects such as site-wide navigation and a new version of embeds.• Identified usability and accessibility problems, proposed fixes, and implemented them. I introduced on-boarding for new and anonymous users, designed an interface for “.env” files, released a total refactor of the menus in the editor, and created a fun and much loved sparkle animation for the “Prettier” code-formatting tool.

Worked directly with the CEO and CTO on partnerships, monetization, and product initiatives.• Created high-fidelity interactive demos to anchor partnership proposal presentations to Apple, Spotify, and YouTube.• Led an engineering team in designing and developing a new ad unit for the homepage. Worked closely with the head of sales and client services to gather requirements.• Planned and led the “Song Stories” project, a cross-platform feature. Led a small team of one freelance animator and a visual designer, while making individual contributions.

Joined a team of two designers and worked on a rebrand from Rap Genius to Genius.• Designed and implemented the first page to use the new brand: the mobile song page.• Owned design on the iOS and Android apps, the search experience across platforms, and many other pages, including the video page, homepage, and album page.• Created the first CSS style guide and visual style guide, and introduced workflow improvements and tools such as Sketch, Zeplin, and Origami.

I was the first student hire and stayed on for full-time and client work. Created thoughtbot.com/upcase on a team of three, a SaaS product for learning intermediate and advanced Rails.• Consulted with small and mid-sized companies on front-end development best practices, branding, and product design. Led design on a client project while still a student.

Led design and development for menuconcierge.com, a new way to create and display recipes.• Created a WYSIWYG editor; integrated with APIs for search, facebook, and email; and setup a Rackspace server and deployment environment.• Assisted with hiring and coordinated with other startups to create and improve their apps.
