About Eric Hodges
I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at Longwood University. I am also a former Marine. My research interests focus on understanding and alleviating reintegration challenges faced by military veterans and their families. Recently I studied how military basic training can help veterans reintegrate. I gave a short TEDx talk in 2013 that discusses my research in more detail. Within political science, I am a political philosopher at heart, but I also love teaching American government. My research lies somewhere at the intersection of military veterans, civic engagement, and democratic theory.
