I'm a corporate attorney based in Seattle. My legal practice focuses on corporate and transactional law for small- to mid-size tech companies, including corporation and LLC formations, founder agreements, seed and venture financing, equity plans, services agreements, corporate governance, software licensing, and M&A. I'm an investor as well through Klahhane Capital Management LLC, a family fund.Previously I was a Director of Business Development at the Invention Science Fund (ISF), the venture-focused part of Intellectual Ventures where I worked on the creation of our spin-out companies. I founded and led the OmniWear Haptics project at ISF, which created a wearable tactile interface for VR and AR applications. A core aspect of the project was the development of a mobile machine vision app, which could reliably recognize certain UI elements of a screen. Our team brought the tech from idea to fully functional software and hardware. I managed all aspects of the project from identifying and recruiting talent, overseeing our outside product design and marking firms, and building and testing early prototypes.Before ISF I founded and led GreenLine Legal - a LegalTech startup that developed machine learning software to analyze contracts. I wrote the core of the text analytic software and developed novel ways to compare and evaluate legal documents. Before that, I was an associate in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb, where my practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and securities.I obtained my JD from Harvard Law School, my MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and my BA from Tufts University, where I majored in Physics, Mathematics and Political Science. I was also a Fulbright Fellow to Nigeria.In my free time I enjoy mountaineering and instruct with the Seattle Mountaineers, competing in triathlons with a focus on Olympic-distance events, and am a private pilot as well.
