Carrying out research for cases and drafted pleadings in matters before the Hon’ble Courts on various laws including but not limited to merger and acquisitions, banking laws, labour laws, stamp law, contract law, taxation laws, constitutional law and company law. I have played an active role in undertaking due diligence in the acquisition of Barclays Bank Pakistan by Habib Bank Limited and disinvestment of shares of Habib Bank Limited by the Government of Pakistan. In addition to the above, I have drafted legal opinions for various clients on number of legal issues including brokers act, enforcement of judgment obtained in Pakistan in UAE, contract laws, labour laws, property and partnership laws.

Working in the Income Tax Department of the firm making monthly statements, filing tax returns, applying for tax exemptions for the respective clients and advising on forming an appropriate accounting statement structure for taxation purposes.

Carried out research and prepared summaries on the advantages and disadvantages of registration of a not for profit organization under four different legislations and on the e-filling requirements for incorporating a company in Pakistan. Moreover, I prepared a comparative analysis of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 and similar legislation in India, reviewed the Anti-money Laundering Act 2010 in connection with an anti-money laundering policy of a non-banking financial institution and assisted in drafting and preparing letters regarding the registration of a trademark and regarding carrying out a company name search at Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

I have worked for three weeks at London office of above law firm and during this period I have worked with my superiors on assignments related to civil procedure code, conversion of companies to unincorporated associations and drafting of merger documents for the respective clients. Moreover, I worked with my colleagues to draft manuals for the clients concerning competition commission of various countries including Pakistan.

Carried out research on the various provisions of the Competition legislation in Pakistan and prepared summaries on decisions relating to the Deceptive Marketing practices and also carried out research on certain aspects of the Muslim Family Law Ordinance, 1961. I also complied and collated documentation and information in connection with a gift of immovable property and also catalogued files dealing with documents relating to Family law and Shariah.
