Ed Walker serves as ArmadaGlobal's CEO. In this role, Walker is responsible for driving business development and sustained, profitable growth. His focus on new business models enables ArmadaGlobal to leverage emerging trends, solve customer problems in larger potential markets and rapidly assemble internal and external Capabilities required to reach the company's growth goals.Walker has extensive executive experience and is highly regarded within the insurance industry. With Transamerica since 1988, he held numerous executive leadership responsibilities with a focus on Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Strategy and Innovation. In his most recent role as Transamerica Direct President, Walker was responsible for overseeing all consumer direct activity for the Transamerica enterprise in North America. Ed also served on the America's Management Committee of Aegon, Transamerica's parent company with headquarters in the Netherlands.Walker serves on the national Board of Directors for America's Health Insurance Plans as well as on the board of several local organizations, including the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Business Volunteers Maryland, Greater Baltimore Committee, The LEADERSHIP and The Center Club of Maryland. He is a founding board member and a past President of U.S. Travel Insurance Association (USTIA).Walker earned an Executive MBA from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD, and a Bachelor of Arts from Lynchburg College in Virginia. Ed resides in Maryland and has two children. He is an accomplished triathlete and active in the endurance sports community and most recently a 2015 IronMan Kona Finisher.
