Inspired by the legendary Colombian goalkeeper, digital creative agency Higuita believes brands should act surprisingly obvious. Because in a time when people spend an average of 0,7 seconds on your ad, the solution has to be found much closer than you think. At Higuita I have the privilege to currently work with a dozen vakidioten who are smarter in their field than me.

I helped this creative agency in their ongoing mission to save the world from boring advertising

I was on a continuous pursuit to convince my fellow colleagues that the Belgian success in football originated from Luc Nilis during his time Eindhoven.

I got to learn a French word every day. By the end of my first month I was able to say ballet, bouquet, boutique, café, chef, coup, debacle, debut, décor, déjà vu, encore, en masse, en route, entrée, entrepreneur, façade, faux pas, fiancé(e), genre, hors d’œuvres, liaison, matinée, menu, naïve, petite, potpourri, protégé, restaurant, resumé and sauté.

During the production of the organdonation campaign I had to call Holland’s first astronaut Wubbo Ockels late at night. In reply to my question if everything was clear for a shoot early next day, he said: „Yes. It’s probably no rocket science, is it?” Word.

In the 2 years time I was developing work for i.a. Peugeot, Citroën and Kentucky Fried Chicken, at least two high profiel criminals were eliminated only 300 metres away from the agency, in the peaceful village of Amstelveen. It happened in front of a Chinese restaurant, not particularly famous for its lemon chicken (#42), but for the police lines marking the entrance.

With art-director Gijs van den Berg I won several Dutch Young Creatives competitions. It led to numerous bus trips to Cannes, the Best YET competition in Stockholm and The Young Lions Competition in film.
