I provide consulting services for embedded software development processes, model based design, embedded software architecture and development, AUTOSAR and simulation environments.

Responsible for the development of a vehicle level software simulator, including instruction set simulators for each ECU in the vehicle, a common infrastructure to facilitate automated testing in our CI environment, and a lab to facilitate simulation at scale.

As a part of Ford’s Electrical Systems Team ( EESE ), I manage a team of engineers and agile coaches that provide standard processes, methods, and tools for software development across Ford’s product development (PD) teams. Responsibilities include:- Development of Core Software Architecture Principles as the Vehicle Level, including the design and implementation of a Service Orientated Architecture infrastructure for On-Vehicle Features. In addition, the team works with the Connected Vehicle Department to ensure compatibility between the on-board and off-board feature and data collection methods- Management of Core SW Development Tools for PD teams, including GitHub, JIRA, TestRail, PolySpace, BTC, and UniPhi. In addition, the team provides both Agile Coaching and DevOps as a service to the greater PD teams- Interface with tool vendors to provide Ford specific requirements to insure needs of the PD software community are met- Development and maintenance of core networking standards for CAN and Automotive Ethernet, including migration to AUTOSAR standard networking software solutions- Creation of Common Basic Software ( BSW ) components for Ford Proprietary algorithms, delivered to Tier 1 suppliers via GitHub- Leadership for SW Quality Process, for both internal and external teams, including development of standards for static analysis, code reviews, and ASPICE assessments- Development of Virtual Test Environments for PD SW Engineers, including custom visualization of testing scenarios through gaming engine technology- Provide mentorship up to 4 Ford New Hires ( Ford College Graduates ) as they navigate the company rotational program, and host up to 10 software summer interns and college co-ops students per year

Managed a team of 5 Software and System architects as a part of Ford’s Powertrain Controls and Calibration team ( PCCN ). Focused on both the existing software architecture as well as migration to a hierarchical structure. The team also managed Ford code quality processes and migration of code to AUTOSAR. Major accomplishments as a part of this team included:- Development of a software partitioning strategy to enable software to migrate from a single to a multicore microprocessor- Creation of model-based techniques in MATLAB/Simulink to automate AUTOSAR wrappers for legacy code- Management of code quality process, including the generation of software standards and static analysis templates for the development team- Management of the private Powertrain CAN Network

Technical Expert for Transmission Controls Software. - Migrated our legacy integrated controls architecture to a modular design, which enabled the transmission controls software to be either co-located with the engine controls, or deployed to a separate ECU, with no changes to the base software. - System integrator for stand-alone transmission control ECUs into the vehicle network.

- Designed transmission control algorithm requirements as well as implementations in assembly code ( 1989 - 1992 ), C and Model Generated C-code. - 3 US Patent awarded.
