I am an experienced Secondary Education English Teacher with 10 years of experience at the secondary level. In addition to my experience teaching, I have also served as a cooperating teacher for a student teacher and hosted several educational field students in my classroom. I have a strong passion for helping all students be successful in and out of the classroom. I enjoy helping all students find meaning in their learning and the confidence they need to believe in themselves and their own unique abilities. I am skilled in Secondary Education, Literature, Curriculum Planning, Public Speaking, and Research. I am a strong professional with a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree focused in Administrative and Instructional Leadership from Alverno College.This is my fifth year serving as a member of my school's Building Leadership Team (BLT). As a member of this team, I work with other teachers and administrators to design Professional Development opportunities focused on strategies to better support all students in the classroom. We meet monthly to design these PD opportunities and to review data related to the implementation of these strategies and the impacts they have on student success and engagement. In addition to my teaching experience and experience as a Building Leadership Team member, I have also served as my department' Content Team Leader for the past two years. In this role and have been a part of the curriculum review process, which has entailed evaluating current curriculum, research into current curriculums available, piloting, and the adoption of a new English curriculum. I am AVID trained and have attended AVID Summer Institute twice. I am also trained and experienced as an AP Seminar teacher.
