Directed team who managed some of the largest and most complicated IT projects in the company, including system standardization in Chicago and Detroit, a facility and system integration of acquired and owned businesses in Southern California; an acquisition integration including standardization of laboratories in Cincinnati and Kansas, system development for Clinical Trials, the replacement of over 5,000 Physician Office Systems with the Quest standard and a reorganization of the IT End User Services organization that impacted over 500 geographically dispersed employees.

Directed team formed to provide customer support for products developed by new Informatics line of business. Department foundational elements included designing process flows following ISO standards, establishing HIPAA security standards and championing first IT Six Sigma team created to measure Informatics Data Completeness.

Responsibilities included project policy setting and oversight for the Information Technology activities required to integrate the two largest diagnostic testing companies in the U.S. Plans coordinated with over 100 people for 5 national product groups and 18 local business units. Established and facilitated Steering Committee, Functional Lead and Business Unit review meetings. Established project milestones; measurement tool and weekly update process. 147 Milestones were completed during tenure in position, of those 66 completed ahead of schedule.

Directed the Year 2000 Project for SBCL worldwide. Coordinated all activities to ensure that the following were upgraded, tested and certified for Year 2000:• 153 software applications maintained by IT, • All DEC VMS, DEC UNIX, HP UNIX, NT server and desktop hardware, operating systems, and database software, • All Electronic Commerce interfaces with customers, third party payors, suppliers and other business partners ,• Over 3000 diagnostic instruments, • Facilities systems at 117 sites.• Over 4400 brochures and surveys were sent to customers and vendors requesting Y2K compliance information.• Established the Year 2000 Milestone Completion Bonus that rewarded employees for extra effort while allowing SBCL to save $1.8 million in consulting expenses in 1998.
