CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE Serves as advanced trainee, primary point of contact for persons inquiring about disaster survivor assistance by telephone. Conducts telephone interviews with disaster victims who have been affected by a declared disaster to recording damage assessments. Provides input on recommendations pertaining to program analysis initiatives, performs other duties as assigned. Assists applicants by telephone to record levels of described damage, determines applicant needs, and provides instructions and referrals to appropriate disaster programs, community resources, and other Federal agencies, as appropriate. Conducts verification activities to determine eligibility of applicants for disaster assistance through direct contact with applicants, in order to gather and disseminate information. Processes applicant cases, re-certifications, audits, and recoups and insurance settlements/denials from disaster assistance applicants. Assists senior specialist with problems that can be complex, controversial, and precedent settings. TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVEAssigned to assist peers to ensure accurate delivery of customer service while adhering to policy and procedures. Providing explanation of proper use of Policy and Procedure Manuals (PPM) and Standards of Policy (SOP), ensuring positive resolution of issue at hand.SPECIAL PROJECTSProject- Quality Control: Examined applications previously reviewed by agents to determine if all guidelines were followed and decisions were correct. Made necessary corrects to files and followed up with daily report to supervisor.ID FRAUD: Detailed examination of applications deemed possible ID Fraud, adhered to established guidelines and procedures while reviewing cases for any indicators of possible fraud, independently determined if a referral to fraud department was necessary and provided daily reports to supervisor.
