Commitment to improvement. Service. Relationships. This trifecta combined with an entrepreneurial energy and a strong advocacy background have been the cornerstone of my career and the key drivers behind a track record of success – in government relations, business development, as a journalist, litigator and lobbyist. As a highly strategic, client-focused senior leader and business partner, I have repeatedly leveraged a strong understanding of the political, regulatory, and legislative process with relationship management, leadership, and influencing abilities to identify and implement high-impact, actionable plans resulting in substantial organizational growth, expansion, access and change. Most recently:✓ At Pearson, as State Policy Support Partner, I successfully advocated and realized a legislative amendment for two California virtual charter schools, while successfully removing existing barriers to access for students. ✓ Reversed a long-term budget deficit, successfully built a $3 million advocacy nonprofit from ground up, and tripled Arizona’s charter school student market share, as head of the Arizona Charter Schools Association.✓ Was named Leader of The Year in Public Policy by Arizona Capitol Times.✓ Served on the Board of Directors for Arizona Charter Schools Advocates and Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry.I am deeply committed to advancing policy for the common good of the public in scalable, equitable, and sustainable ways, and by advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. My dedication to service transcends business. As a personal achievement, I’m particularly proud of having bicycled from Seattle to New Jersey to raise money for charity.
