Since 1962, the Union Gospel Mission has provided services with a life-changing Gospel message to the homeless and poor in Sacramento.9,200 meals are served monthly, and food boxes are given out weekly and on major holidays to families and seniors in need.84 men are sheltered each evening, and offered free resources — showers, clean clothes and shoes, hygiene items, haircuts, mail service and many essential items.Our men’s 9-month drug and alcohol rehabilitation program is free of charge, with pastors providing biblical teaching and counseling.Next Step, Pathway to a Job, is a vocational and training placement program for our graduates, restoring men back to productive lives.The Women’s Clothing Closet ministers to homeless and poverty-stricken women and children with Bible studies and a beautiful boutique store where women and children receive items for free.Members of more than 64 churches serve as regular volunteers, providing nightly spiritual services and helping serve meals.Our logo portrays the “Jesus Saves” sign that lights up brightly at the top of our building with UGM Sacramento providing the road to new life through Christ.
