About Eileen Van Aken
I have spent 27 years in academia in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. The last 17.5 years have been in academic leadership positions. My research and teaching interests are in the areas of performance measurement (scorecards), process improvement and organizational transformation, and Kaizen events. I have published over 160 peer-reviewed publications, and this work has been cited 3,700 times. I have advised 13 PhD students to completion and am currently advising four. I have held multiple volunteer leadership positions within the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers and the American Society for Engineering Management.
