Shrab (State Historical Records Advisory Board)Montana Historical Society Apr 2018 - PresentThe Montana SHRAB is one of more than fifty similar boards active in all the states, territories, and the District of Columbia. State historical records boards were established in 1975 by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the grant-awarding arm of the National Archives. The Montana SHRAB was organized in September 1976 with an Executive Order issued by the Governor, who continues to appoint the seven members of the Montana Board to two-year terms. Board members must have experience or interest in the collection, administration, and use of historical records and are dedicated to the preservation and use of Montana's documentary heritage. The State Archivist is a permanent member and serves as the state coordinator for the board. -

PresidentMountain Plains Library Association 2009 - 2010Mountain Plains Library Association, a professional organization with librarians, library paraprofessionals and friends of libraries in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Its purpose is to promote the development of librarians and libraries by providing significant educational and networking opportunities. Throughout my time with MPLA, I have been in several roles including the VP, President, Past-President, MPLA representative for Montana Library Association, and Nominating Committee Chair, Archives. I was awarded the Dan Chaney Unsung Hero Award, 2022. I was a fellow at the MPLA Leadership Institute, and I have had the priveldge to be a mentor now, too.
