It has been my honor to serve the citizens of Montgomery County during my thirty four years as a member of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department, the last seven years as Chief. Starting my career as a dispatcher at the age of nineteen and working my way up through the ranks to become the first female police chief in Montgomery County I have gained valuable experience and knowledge to fulfill the responsibilities of Sheriff.My career has focused on service to the community and collaboration with local organizations and neighboring communities to achieve positive results by being proactive in community relations and public education.Under my command, the Whitemarsh Police department has become an accredited police agency. The department also is part of an active multi jurisdiction tactical response team with eleven other municipalities.In our county, the Sheriff has become a part of the County Emergency Management Team working with all jurisdictions and emergency responders to critical incidents. I understand the need for the Sheriff’s Department to have a positive working relationship with all levels of government and emergency service responders throughout the county. In times of limited resources and finances, interagency cooperation is critical to all communities and the safety of the residents.As the endorsed candidate for Sheriff by the Montgomery County Republican committee, I am seeking your support in the 2011 elections.
