Procured parts used in the manufacture of vacuum feedthrough products. This included machined parts, magnets, bearings, motors and other parts used for production. Managed production issues with sister companies in China and England. I worked very closely with engineering, QC and the internal machine shop. Kept in close contact and kept a friendly relationship with the local machine shops after most of their work was given to the sister company in China. I helped with the startup of Quartz division in the California office. Developed and managed vendor relationships ensuring quality performance and cost reductions. Was a mentor to Junior Buyers.

Purchased parts used in the manufacture of control systems for the semiconductor industry. This included circuit boards, electronic components, weldments and sheet metal. Also located and purchased difficult to find parts used to rebuild gas diffusion furnaces. Closely involved with inventory control and planning. Saved 50.00 per unit after intense negotiations with Analog Devices and Burr-Brown for a chip used in a gas board while ensuring on time delivery.
