Managed the onboarding of new Apprentices including monitoring of their progress and challenges in both classroom and at workplace, by partnering with line managers and the Apprenticeship providers.

Succession planning often stops at talent identification, and talent scarcity is often misaddressed by a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. Each employee is unique with diverse skills, competencies and career aspirations.As the lead for Talent Management in OCBC Malaysia, I have developed a critical understanding and appreciation for talent development and effective succession planning. In OCBC Bank, talent management enables the bank to meet its objectives in precipitating employee’s growth. I helped manage the entire talent management value chain, from talent acquisition to development, retention and succession planning.In talent acquisition, I managed the sourcing and recruitment of management associates/graduate trainees, from interviews to Assessment Centres. I also worked closely with HR Business Partners in identifying High Potentials and successors across bank, and subsequently chart their development and mobility plans in accordance to their respective career aspirations.

As a Country Manager, I helped to grow CIMA's brand presence in Indonesia and Vietnam through strategic partnerships and collaborations with top universities, regulatory bodies, employers and tuition providers. The key to successful partnerships is to first understand each others' needs and the value we could provide in helping their students and employees.Meanwhile, students' progression is equally important in order to help progress them as accredited members. Therefore, we put a lot of effort and attention into developing multiple study support channels across the country.Throughout the years, I have also worked with the Indonesian and Vietnamese students across multiple universities to organise business challenges, soft skills training and career talks.

I designed, developed and delivered training courses for employees across all departments. Having passion in helping others to succeed through the development of their soft-skills, I enjoy designing creative and fun training activities to allow participants to understand, appreciate and apply them at work or in life generally.I also led a regional stock trading competition in a virtual, risk-free market space amongst young undergraduates from various universities across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Year 2007 - 2008: As an International Student Centre officer, I took care of the international student admissions and students affairs - from enquiries to registrations and getting them through various processes. I understood that my greatest responsibility was to assist students in settling down in a foreign country; hence, understanding each student's needs are critical; moreover facing cultural differences of people around the globe. While mastering internal processes is important, it is also critical to listen and have empathy for them as each comes with unique backgrounds, situations, challenges and requests. I was fortunate to be in the pioneer team when the university first started receiving foreign students into the undergraduate/Bachelor's programmes. While running a newly formed department with limited headcounts, each of us had to also improvise processes and procedures along the way.Year 2008 - 2009: I was given the exciting opportunity to organise major university events which involved the students, lecturers, industrial partners, foreign universities, government officials, public figures, top management, Board of Directors and the Royalties.Some of my major portfolios include the University Convocation, Special Convocation for Her Royal Highness Queen Rania (Queen of Jordan), public lectures, Launch of 'Power of 10 cents' in collaboration with Universal Peace Federation (UPF), dinners, conferences and many more.Besides, I also actively MC-ed in various events over the years which include the UM-NUS Golf Tournament (attended by HRH Sultan Azlan Shah, Sultan of Perak and then President of Singapore, President Nathan). Year 2009-2010: As an International Relations officer, I was responsible for engaging and communicating with foreign universities on partnerships, official visits and conferences. Partners ranging from the UK to North Asia and around SEA, it was an ideal platform to learn about various cultural differences and work effectiveness.
