I’ve been a passionate educator since 1995, moving from a city high school to tutoring when my children were born. Being a tutor fuels my passion for helping young people overcome obstacles while remaining part-time so I can devote more time to my family. Over the past 9 years, I have been working with students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, from ages 7 - adult. Most of the time I work with students one-on-one, either in their homes, in libraries, or in the office. I have also worked with students out of state, via Skype or FaceTime. With the current health pandemic, I have had to switch over to virtual tutoring, as have my students. During my experiences with students, I have learned about the power of positive thinking and mindset and this has lit a fire in me to share with and encourage others. One of my greatest joys is to watch a student succeed after we struggle together. Although this time has created a number of obstacles for my students, we have worked to overcome them together. I feel blessed that I can continue to work with them virtually, and am always adding to my bag of tricks as we face new obstacles.
