After living in Glasgow and Edinburgh for a number of years and being involved in the comedy scene, moving back to Falkirk was a bit of a shock to the system. With a view to having something to do locally and giving opportunities within the area, I sourced a local venue to host monthly comedy nights. Every month a new charity is chosen to benefit from cash raised on the night. Acts are booked through my network of comedian contacts and local promotion is carried out. Since starting the evening, more people have become involved in the event and popularity continues to grow. You will find performances on the last Wednesday of every month in Sportsters Falkirk. Deep Fried Film Festival - the only festival in the UK that raises money for charity, audience voting , world premiers , films fro around the world and us! The Deep Fried Film Festival aims to develop the talent and skills of filmmakers, by encouraging better practices amongst filmmakers and increasing relationships between filmmakers and production organisations. By involving the local community, raising awareness of independent film and creating film making opportunities the Deep Fried Film Festival intends to help filmmakers get access to necessary practical and theoretical resources, filmmakers realise their abilities and promote themselves to a larger audience.Deep Fried Film seeks to provide an annual film festival as well as the set up of informal network/support groups to fulfil its aims. Any profits generated by the Deep Fried Film Festival shall be put back into the promotion and development of independent filmmakers.
