I am the Drum Corporal of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland where I am in charge of some of the most talented young drummers in the country. I was Drum Corporal of the development band for 3 years and in February 2019 I was promoted to the Drum Corporal of the senior band. This is an honour for me and I regularly play as part of the band at high profile events, both in the UK and abroad.

Brossac

I spent 3 weeks volunteering at La Giraudiere, 45 minutes from Bordeaux. The program allows international volunteers to experience the French way of life, as well as to learn new skills. During my stay there, I focused mainly on social networks and the blog. However, I also learned how to do your accounts and about the different taxes that affect the hospitality industry. My French not only improved drastically, but I also learned to live and work together with others, and my confidence in myself has greatly increased.

Stirling

During my 12 week internship at Start Up Stirling, I was responsible for organising and coordinating the fundraising and awareness events for the charity. This included bag packs, speeches at local events and organising future quiz nights and afternoon tea's. During my time working for the third sector, I learned a vast amount from working with people in crisis, working with other professionals and to working independantly. The internship was very useful for me as I learned about GDPR procedures which my peers were unaware of and many protocols specifically for the third sector.

Dunblane

I completed a seasonal job at Marks and Spencers in Dunblane where I got to experience working in the customer service industry at the busiest time of the yer. I thrived under the pressure and I was able to deal with any customer complaints. The experience gave me an unerstanding of how managers in bigger companies organise their staff and my time there developed my team working and communication skills

Glasgow, United Kingdom

I volunteered at the Piping Live festival in Glasgow for 4 years, where I enjoyed interacting with people from all over the world and working effectively in a team, to allow large scale daily events to run smoothly. My volunteer duties varied from serving and cleaning tables, to organizing large parades of bands on Buchanan Street. I returned to the festival in 2018 and took charge of the accounts of the social networks of the day, through interviews with artists. This was a privilege for me and it was a great experience.

Dunblane

I was the young leader of 3rd Dunblane Brownies for 6 years Through this role, I was able to increase my communication skills with regards to children and each week I would organise their games, activities and songs. I loved this role as I enjoy working with children and it was a very rewarding job
