I have been awarded a 2-year Fellowship by the Leverhulme Trust in support of my project, 'Crafting Fashion in India: Tailoring, Gender and Everyday Clothes'. The project aims to create an alternative history of fashion in India by focusing on tailors and what they create, presenting fashion from the ground up and revealing the 'hidden histories' of clothes manufacture in India.

I am working with the Research Team at the LLDC (aka the Shrujan Museum) to further the Museum's research into local craft traditions, and to develop more public-facing outcomes - publications are a target area.

I have been working with the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), Toronto, since 2016 as a consultant on the forthcoming exhibition about chintz, 'The Cloth that Changed the World: India's Painted and Printed Cottons' (4 April-27 September 2020). The research associateship gives me the opportunity to work on other projects at ROM, with great access to the collections - especially textiles and fashion - which are world class.
