    Working in collaboration with senior management in both the office of Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies & HR to shape, guide and deliver an effective and consistent HR service for SETU’s research community. Responsible for aligning Institutional and HR strategy with research careers and training and development opportunities to assist both researchers and management in SETU’s diverse research community. Institutional Lead on the European Commission Human Resource Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), with responsibility for guiding SETU’s HRS4R Action Plan. Under my leadership WIT became the first IOT in Ireland to receive the HR Excellence in Research designation in 2014, successfully leading the award attainment in 2016 & 2021. Acting as a change agent, bringing forward new HR ideas for researchers, providing practical solutions whilst considering the organisational culture and budget constraints. Responsible for development and implementation of HR Research policies, processes and support. I am passionate about research careers, I have introduced a number of policies, practices and support initiatives specifically aimed at researchers including the SETU's Open and Transparent Merit based Recruitment (OTM-R) policy, Hybrid Working policy, the Broaden Your Horizons Researcher Development Programme, the Odyssey Researcher Mentoring Initiative, Research Open Doors series, Supervisor’s Seminar series, Just Come and Write Sessions, SpeedResearch Researcher Networking, the Research Brown Bag series, Researcher Wellbeing supports and most recently SETU's Women in Research Network. I am an active member of SETU's HRS4R Operational Committee, Employee Wellbeing Committee, EDI Committee and Athena Swan SAT Team, the Marie Curie ITN ORBITAL Training and Doctoral Studies Sub-Committee & the EU-CONEXUS-RFS consortium.
