Previously he was State Secretary (Deputy Minister) in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MoJ) from 2011-2012, and the political advisor to the Minister of Justice Mr. Knut Storberget in the Ministry of Justice and the Police (MoJ) from 2007-2011. He joined Telenor Norway in June 2015, as Director of Governmental Relations.He has worked as political advisor to the Leader of The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, and Labours MPs in the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget) from 2014-2015, and The Standing Committee of Justice from 2004-2007. Thorshaug was Vice President of the Norwegian Labour Youth (AUF) from 2002-2004. Councillor in Sør-Trøndelag County Authority (Fylkesting) from 1999-2003 and member of the Local Council of Malvik Municipality (Kommunestyre) from 1995-1999. Eirik is a graduate of the University of Oslo (UiO) with a master’s degree (MSc) in International relations focusing on terrorism and international security policy. He has studied at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim (NTNU), and at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. Thorshaug is fluent in english, spoken and written.
