About Eithne Barry

I received a B.A. in French & Italian in U.C.C & a HDip in Education & I spent college summers working in France & Italy. I always loved good food. Our ethos in Jacques is to use local, seasonal food, cooked with passion. Some of our suppliers are Dave & Paddy for Veg, Michael and Eoin for our Beef & Lamb, Jack McCarthy for our pork and for our fish, just look at the size of Cork’s coast....In 2013, we extended Jacques and opened our second door onto Oliver Plunkett Street where we serve lunch and great tapas in the evening, as well as our à la carte menu on the Phoenix Street side. I suppose I am a positive person & I try and see the best in people. I am a helper & a confidante to people. I enjoy life and love to laugh as I believe it is the best medicine.

The house is situated on Sarsfield Road, Wilton, Cork, where there is a drop-in centre, counselling, massage and other services. It is a safe haven for people with cancer and their families where you can find information, practical help and support, and all services are complementary. Although I am no longer a board member, I am passionate about this charity and still actively involved.
