AREAS OF EXPERTISE:Critical sustainability studies in health ● Medical evidence as a source of trust and mistrust in situations of crisis ● Knowledge translation and various uses (and misuses) of medical knowledge in society.SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS:● I am a triple-qualified professor (in health science, social science and the humanities) with a dedication to integrating evidence-based approaches with the humanistic aspects of medicine to promote sustainable health.● I spearheaded the Sustainable Health Unit (SUSTAINIT), which comprises three centres dedicated to fostering critical and research-based approaches to sustainability and sustainable health.● Appointed as the inaugural Dean of the European University Alliance Circle U., I am tasked with overseeing an educational programme that spans nine universities. ● With over 15 years of leadership in large-scale international research projects, I have directed a Centre of Excellence in Education — the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE) — funded by the Norwegian Government. In 2022, I led the successful grant-writing effort securing €12.8 million for Circle U..● As a medical humanities scholar, I have pioneered new approaches to the study of the conceptual and ideological underpinnings of health knowledge (including evidence-based medicine) drawing on discourse analysis and the philosophy of science, and launched a new translational programme for the medical humanities in collaboration with Julia Kristeva.● I was a group leader and fellow at the Centre for Advanced Study at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, achieved the status of Centre of Excellence for SHE, and was appointed as one of the nine inaugural European Academic Chairs for Global Health at the European University Alliance Circle U.● I am the author and co-author of more than 200 academic publications, including seven books and articles in prominent journals such as the Lancet, Nature Medicine, the BMJ, Social Science and Medicine, and Social History, Currently, I am also contributing to three Lancet Commissions related to my research.● I have inspired several PhD research projects across the world (15 as a supervisor), including the University of Oxford-based research projects, Translating Illness (M. Arnaldi) and Beyond EBM (S.
