As a contracts specialist for the Department of Navy (DoN), I provide support for an ACAT I program in attaining requirements and mission goals. I utilize applicable FAR, DFARS, other regulations, and Government contracting procedures for negotiating contracts. In doing this I'm experienced with the application of all contract types including fixed price and cost reimbursement methods. I work with a program to acquire specialized engineering industry sources of supply and services with applicable economic factors based on market availability. I'm responsible for pre and post award contracting processes inclusive of all contract administration duties. I perform cost and price analysis of current price trends and other cost factors in review of proposals. I regularly develop a detailed analysis on individual cost elements and profit with appropriate pre and post business clearance documentation to establish the Government’s position and serve as lead negotiator. I apply the appropriate negotiation techniques to meet and attain a deal with customers and contractors to procure requested requirements. Additionally I continually monitor contractor progress relating to the terms of the contract. I provide administrative coordination, contract management support, and clearing for all matters affecting the contract. Lastly, I provide support for a demanding program including leading meetings with high ranking Navy Officers and officials.
