At the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center I was responsible for coordinating activities and events for the youth department. I've implemented programs like creative writing and poetry, and also a football techniques class/camp. In addition to this I had to facilitate a sex education curriculum in alternative schools throughout the city. Facilitating the curriculum helped me learn how to take control of a classroom (or a group of people) in a professional manner. It also helped me out on the coaching side as well. I coached a 5th grade recreational basketball team. My teaching experience along with my coaching experience really helped me learn how to become a leader of Men and more importantly the experience gave me the confidence that I need in order to take my career to the next level.

At the YMCA I counseled about 15 school age kids daily. I served as a mentor and big brother to the kids that needed extra help and love outside of thier homes. I took the kids on weekly field trips in order to get them out of their neighborhoods and to get them to think outside of the box. It was successful for the most part. I started to see changes in the kids that wanted to be helped.
