In September 2016 I moved from the position of Outside Sales Rep for Builder FirstSource to General Manager of the Columbia, South Carolina location, as well as the Sales Manager.As General Manager I am responsible for the operations and safety of the 22 acre facility with a railcar spur, 45 employees, and a trucking fleet. Another key responsibility is the P&L Statement. In the first three years of this position I increased EBITDA year over year. My two biggest goals in this position are ensuring total customer satisfaction and helping my employees thrive, which I find go hand in hand. I meet regularly with each department to continuously improve standards, procedures, policies, and expectations. Together we identify challenges and develop ways to overcome them.

I began with Builders FirstSource in July 2013 as an Outside Sales Rep. I began this position having no accounts handed to me, by December I brought on new accounts and generated $800,000 in sales. I generated 1.1 million in sales in 2014, 2.3 million in sales in 2015, and was on track to hit 3 million in 2016. I was able to achieve success in this position thanks to my skills in not only cold calling and developing a relationship with new customers but in staying organized and following up as well, which are equally vital to closing sales. Following up is vital to achieve total customer service, which is the ultimate goal. To this end, I understand the value in working effectively with my inside sales coordinators to ensure the sales processes ran as smoothly as possible. My relationships with customers and inside sales coordinators are not the only ones I valued as an Outside Sales Rep. I worked with other salesmen in the company to help them grow in their positions. I offered advice on closing bids from my experience and shared my knowledge on the products. This leadership did not go unnoticed, and after exceling in this position for about three years, I took over as the General Manager of the Columbia, SC location for Builders FirstSource.
