I have the privilege of leading, inspiring, enabling and supporting four national teams - whose goals are to facilitate the mission with systems and processes that are easy for staff and volunteers to access and use, to build relationships with our valued donors and supporters, and to build SU Australia’s marketing presence.

Bridging the gap between what people need on the ground and the technical and compliance requirements of the freshly merged Scripture Union Australia, this role has strategic oversight over mission enabling systems, including business analysis, project management and analytics.Together with IT and the Support Hub teams, we help to create, improve and transform the digital experiences of over 1100 staff, over 7000 volunteers and millions of young Australians and their families.

In this role, I am responsible for providing the organisation with creative thinking and strategic advice, identifying opportunities to advance the organisation’s services over and above the incremental changes that departments make as part of Business As Usual.

My primary role at SU QLD is to manage marketing and fundraising efforts online. This includes planning strategies to engage with donors and make it easy for them to support SU QLD’s work through online giving and advocacy.Day to day, I spend much of my time developing web, video, audio, photographic and design elements for use in social media, email campaigns, online adverstising and various websites that SU QLD has. Some of these elements I design and build and some are outsourced where time constraints require and budget allows.I have the privilege of leading two graphic designers — empowering them to manage their time, relationships and professional development, and guiding them through difficult problems when they arise.

Initially, my role at SU QLD was to improve the online presence of the organisation and help promote the cause and fundraising activities online and through Email Campaigns.I also took on some project management responsibilities while the organisation refurbished and moved into a new building in Fortitude Valley.

I was part of a team that built the Musicadium web applications - allowing unsigned artists to quickly and easily get their music online.Musicadium was an initiative of some of the staff from SM2 and we worked on this project and client work concurrently as time permitted.

SM2 is a web development studio that specialises in the Joomla! framework/CMS, custom building plugins, modules and components for medium to large organisations.My responsibilities included:• Developing PHP/MySQL based applications. • Developing custom CMS plugins to enhance projects and/or integrate with existing software and E-commerce gateways. • Consulting with clients to improve the usability of their existing applications and liaise with the design team to ensure these improvements are carried out effectively. • Progressively enhance applications with JavaScript and dynamic Flash animations. • Style applications and websites using valid (strict) standards-basedXHTML and CSS. • Train clients and assist them in becoming comfortable with newtechnology. • Translate clients' business needs into software specifications andproposals.
