About Eric Beaver
After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a poor job market resulted in working for a wireless networking company for 6 years managing all technical operations of the Blair County market.Returning to mechanical engineering, I then started working at Penn State Altoona supervising all engineering labs, overseeing significant expansions, and assisting research faculty with their labs. I have been focusing on improved processes and management, improved safety and regulatory compliance, strategic hiring, budgetary responsibilities, and strategic planning.While at Penn State Altoona, I volunteered as the Baja SAE team advisor, co-taught several courses, and was instrumental in the creation of a center for 3d printing to improve visibility and accessibility to the entire campus community.When I moved to Virginia in 2016, I taught Mechatronics and Renewable Energy at Tidewater Community College for 5 years and served as the department chair for the Mechatronics program.Looking for a new challenge, I accepted an Automation Engineer position at Stihl, USA in the summer of 2021. In the summer of 2023, I was asked to lead the amazing team at the Trimmer Line Plant as the Business Unit Manager.
