Report to the Chief Information Officer. Design and execute a strategic vision for the University's applications and infrastructure that supports the University strategic plan. Lead and oversee activities relating to the design, development, implementation, testing, management and overall technical support for IT systems, learning management systems, ellucian Banner and ancillary environments including multi-platform hardware and operating systems, messaging, database administration, storage, application development and integration, and business analysis and reporting. Manage IT resource requirements to ensure ‎appropriate balance between tactical and ‎strategic demands and asset's full life cycle value is achieved. ‎ ‎Provide overall leadership and direction to staff.

Report to the Executive Director of IT Systems and Operations. Responsible for oversight and leadership including: campus Exchange and Sendmail environments, web infrastructure, enterprise back-ups, database administration, and SAP and SunGard Banner infrastructure.Key Duties:- Provide the leadership and vision to create, implement, and manage the strategic direction, architecture, and support mechanisms for infrastructure Application Administration (SharePoint, Cognos, UC4, Blackboard Transaction System, Document Imaging/Management, etc.), Blackboard and Banner Administration, Database Administration, Messaging (MS Exchange, Zimbra, and SendMail), SAP Basis Administration, and Web Administration within IT Systems and Operations. - Oversee and assure the success of projects that reinvent the processes, systems, and standards used to repeatedly produce substantial improvements in customer service, availability, resilience, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness of our "utility" software services. - Work closely with business application owners, technical leaders throughout Purdue, other directors in ITSO, and hardware and software vendors.

Reported to the Chief Information Officer and Vice President for Information Technology. Responsible for oversight and strategic leadership including: faculty development and course development, learning systems and applications development and support, campus computer lab and classroom technology support, campus audio visual services, and web design and development.Key Duties:- Lead a staff of 100 full-time employees with overall budget of approximately $9 million.- Provide leadership, creativity, and vision for the breadth of technology facilitating teaching and learning at Purdue University.- Facilitate regular meetings of Educational Technology Advisory Committee. The committee provides system wide communication among faculty and administrators on issues around teaching and learning with technology.

Reported to the Associate Vice President for Teaching and Learning Technologies. Responsible for the managerial oversight of 4 functional groups for support of learning spaces within Information Technology.Key Duties:- Provide leadership, creativity, and vision for the use of classroom technologies and learning spaces at Purdue University.- Responsible for supporting and administering technology in all types of learning spaces including computer laboratories and classrooms, as well as developing online learning environments, and instructional infrastructure- Oversee a staff of 60 full-time employees and 200 student employees with a budget of $4.5 million.

For 6 month period, reported to the Chief Information Officer and Vice President for Information Technology. Responsible for oversight and strategic leadership for infrastructure systems and operations including: campus email, web, database, storage, UNIX, mainframe, and Windows services. Oversaw a staff of 68 full-time employees with budget of approximately $8 million.Key Duties & Accomplishments:- Provided executive oversight for project management, systems support and enterprise scheduling for Purdue University’s SAP ERP deployment. Prepared organization to jointly support SAP with IT Enterprise Applications. - Implemented systematic staff planning to ensure staffing levels were adequate for SAP go-live, prepared staff for transition from mainframe to open systems environment, and to address systemic shortages in staffing levels.- Launched strategic planning effort for enterprise storage needs. Goal was a highly collaborative strategic plan and gap analysis for enterprise storage to include input from all areas of information technology and academic and administrative customer areas.
