My most recent work is researching the optimization of whey to ethanol fermentations in collaboration with the Isle of Mull Cheese Company and Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom. There I provided valuable information to the company based on numerous trials carried out under differing conditions to influence the most cost-effective production of ethanol. While utilizing laboratory equipment to qualitatively describe active ingredients I allowed for the company to implement new procedures to obtain specifications previously unobtainable in the finished product.
