As the Director of Equity and Environmental Justice, I lead the Department's work to develop and implement an equity strategic plan, a community engagement plan, establish and implement equity-based targets in program implementation and budgeting, and much more. Currently, I am developing an affordable housing portfolio and forming the first emergency management team for vulnerable populations experiencing natural disasters. As Director, l represent DNR on the WA Environmental Justice Council to incorporate recommendations and support coordination across agencies. I serve on the senior leadership team, and provide guidance to the department and Commissioner to ensure DNR’s work holds equity and inclusion in its core. I work closely with DNR’s Office of Workplace Culture and Development and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, as well as work across all DNR programs and with key partners including Tribes, trust beneficiaries, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

Appointed by the King County Council and elected as Chair of the body, the Citizens' Elections Oversight Committee (CEOC) is charged with supporting King County in maintaining public confidence in elections. The CEOC makes formal recommendations to the Council to improve the performance of the Department of Elections, and helps ensure that accountability and performance of the Department of Elections is provided in a transparent manner that is meaningful to the residents of King County.Ordinance 15453 and Ordinance 17273 created the current CEOC. Appointments to the CEOC are made by the Council Employment and Administration Committee and are subject to confirmation by Full Council. Previously served as First Vice Chair and member of the Voter Engagement Committee.

Appointed by City Council- the Redistricting Commission is responsible for overseeing the development of new City Council district lines in response to the completed 2020 Census. The Commission appoints a Districting Master to draw a districting plan for the City, develop a draft districts proposal based on that plan, facilitate a process of public comment on that proposal, and ultimately vote upon approval of that proposal for transmission to the State of Washington. How and where districts are drawn can shape communities’ ability to elect the representatives of their choice. The Commissioners are responsible for setting the boundaries for City Council districts that will last until the 2030 Census and Redistricting process.

Group Health Foundation, now known as Inatai, is where I worked with the CEO, board of directors, community leaders, and funding partners to shape an ambitious public policy agenda to advance health equity in Washington. In this role I leveraged the Foundation’s status as a 501(c)(4) organization to advance the goals of both statewide and community-led initiatives and manage a team of lobbyists to advance the Foundation's agenda. I led the Home Region Grant portfolio funding community resilience, advocacy, housing, culture, and civil rights work across Washington State. I primarily operated in systems change work at the regional and national levels to create a vibrant region where everyone has the ability to thrive and be healthy.

As a member of SPL Leadership, I work to build and maintain effective and strong community partnerships and governmental relationships that support our agency's programmatic work and service to the community. I also serve as a key point of contact with community leaders, and public and private organizations on behalf of the organization.Additionally, I co-chair the agency's Racial Equity Change Team. This team is a cross-division group tasked with implementing the organization's workplan for Seattle's Race and Social Justice Initiative. I represent the Library in conducting business with the Mayor's Office, other local governmental agencies, elected and appointed officials, and businesses to advance the organizations strategic goals. I work to explore, anticipate and promote opportunities for future funding in collaboration with The Seattle Public Library Foundation to continue a long history of leading the nation in cutting edge library programming.

As the Executive Director of Progressive Majority Washington, the state affiliate of Progressive Majority, I work to recruit, train and retain progressive elected officials at the local and state level. With a special emphasis on recruiting amongst historically underrepresented communities – women, communities of color, LGBTQ, as well as youth – I manage our statewide strategy to elect champions for progressive values. I also manage Progressive Majority WA PAC, an organization that has helped elect over 160 progressive candidates statewide, winning a majority of the races in which it endorsed.

My work with Solid Ground was focused in the Advocacy Department where I lead campaigns under through the Statewide Poverty Action Network program. While there I focused on creating a rewarding and engaged membership base for the state's largest anti-poverty organization. I coordinated and executed the network's fundraising campaigns and communications strategies through innovative plans that supported the organization's vision of a state where everyone can meet their basic needs. Additionally, I managed multi-platform engagement campaigns online, in print, and in visual media to promote smart policy solutions to end poverty in Washington state. I also was responsible for the implementation of participatory action research for the organization and management of the customized collateral materials that support our statewide and national public policy priorities.

Coordinated organizing campaign for healthcare workers at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. Managing leadership development strategies, workplace grievances, member development and workplace organizing campaigns, I worked with 1199NW to prepare members for contract negotiations at the South Puget Sound's largest healthcare provider in 2011.
