Starting as a long-term sub, I moved to a permanent position at Crawford High School as a French and English teacher (later taking on an AVID position as well).Through restorative practices, student-centered curriculum, and digital integration, my classes saw exceptional turnaround within weeks of my involvement. Student participation and scores went up, absences declined, and a variety of learning communities were encouraged to participate.

To better involve myself in San Diego communities, I worked for Better Buzz Coffee as a shift-lead.Not only did it sharpen my managerial practices, but it also strengthened my skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and creative problem-solving.

After graduating from college, I moved to the Denver area and found a career with Rangeview High School.For the last year, I've developed a freshman English curriculum that works to aid the agency of young adults. Specifically, my pedagogy develops activities, ideas and unit objectives that work to rally against the idea that high schoolers are "too young" to start shaping the future.

I became involved with the Bistro after a transition in ownership opened up an opportunity for me to work part-time while student teaching.The Bistro emphasized efficiency and well-informed service alongside consistent communication between staff.

In my final semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I taught Freshman English & Holocaust Literature at Southeast High School. My teaching practices encouraged students to engage personal interest with action that could be enacted in local communities. My advisor allowed me total control over curriculum giving me an opportunity to immerse myself in a public school system.

In 2016, I was responsible for promoting products via social media, processing donations, and organizing catered events. I also managed front-of-house training, menu design, hiring, and staff communication. Over the course of 3 years, I created or aided the planning of holiday parties and event suppers. This included preparing space for upwards of 70 people by crafting specialty cocktails, pairing food & beverages, decorating, and hosting.

In my early college career, I organized men’s and women’s clothing at a local boutique. I was responsible for reorganizing displays, curating seasonal clothing, and purchasing products for resale.

As an arts & entertainment writer for the DN, I focused on finding stories that linked women’s issues with local news. My main goal was to find student voices while providing a soapbox to share their experiences and specializations.

Worked in an active environment that had employees focus on multiple projects while also engaging customers in a positive coffee shop experience. In addition to preparing an array of specialty coffee drinks, I maintained product displays and assisted in outreach events.

Maintained knowledge of company’s products, services, and plants for customers with various gardening dilemmas. Also responsible for the care and arranging of house plants and fairy gardens.
