* RealArcade to GameHouse Consumer MigrationThis project consolidated consumers from the decommissioned RealArcade storefront to the GameHouse storefront.I designed and substantially implemented Java migration APIs comprised of 2 parts: a servlet filter for easily integrating with Spring Security; and a service layer, using the facade pattern, for exposing migration methods to controllers in the web layer.I took the initiative to write a series of soapUI test suites to automate the generation of test consumers with a variety of different subscription and game entitlements, thereby removing a project bottleneck and reducing QA costs. This approach has since become a standard tool for the QA team in ongoing projects.The project surpassed its goal of > 90% migration of active subscribers, and the business will receive the benefits of reduced costs during 2010. * Legacy GameHouse Site MigrationThis project migrated the legacy Servlet/JSP based GameHouse website to a new stack of Spring-based Java web applications.I was the lead engineer for developing checkout, account management, and Single Sign-On (SSO) Java web applications using Spring (MVC, Web Flow, Security, and Web Services) JASIG-CAS, and Tomcat clustering/Jboss tree cache technologies for addressing availability.I led the integration of PayPal into the GameHouse checkout application.The SSO mechanism I championed subsequently reduced time to market for several new applications needing authentication.The previous Gamehouse applications experienced downtime multiple times per day; the new stack rarely experiences outages.

Maintained and enhanced the HealthLinks, PrimeAnswers, and EthnoMed websites , using JSP, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript to improve access to health information resources for clinicians and students. Coordinated developers, content producers, and designers on critical site redesign work as we moved from failing software to a stable code base. This included setting up of online bug-tracking application, Mantis.Carried out requirements gathering and coordinated web usability testing for multiple web projects.Enhanced websites by integrating remote XML data sources using web services (SOAP and REST), Perl, and XSL.Initiated implementation of content management system for staff intranet to reduce staff time lost to poor information retrieval.Responsible for SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL database administration.Served on unit management team, with responsibility for strategic directions, hiring staff, managing technology budget, and approving all technology purchases.Managed 3-4 professional staff responsible for IT operations in unit of 70 employees in 3 locations, offering secure public computing for up to 220 students.Member of implementation and training team for roll-out of MeetingMaker group calendar to 400 users.

Taught masters level class "Conceptual Database Design", covering Object Role Modeling for conceptual design, logical, and physical design.
