ISP Engineer for Kentucky Wired Project

Responsible for all network management functions for 8 of the 10 Product Groups at Zayo Group. Lead four (4) Network Control Center teams supporting Dark Fiber, Long Haul Dark Fiber, Wavelengths, SONET, POP Collocation (ISP), Fiber To The Tower (Wireless Backhaul), Small Cell and Media services globally. The organization consist of six (6) managers and approximately 100 personnel.

Responsible for the monthly implementation of ~300K MRR in “lit” services nationwide. Managed 7 project managers responsible for accepting, processing, managing, scheduling and delivering communications to customers throughout the steps of the provisioning/delivery plans.- Managed the service activation pipeline to ensure we met the customers requested due date and managed the FOC (firm order of commitment).- Averaged a 94% delivery percentage against the FOC quarter to date by ensuring the functional organizations in the company remained on schedule for on time delivery on all lit services.

Managed Zayo’s Fiber to The Tower Division. The team of 25 technicians were responsible for the installation, network surveillance and customer support for all Zayo wireless customers.- Integrated Network Control Center and Installation team functions to expedite acceptance of elements to the network ensuring network support elements were support ready. (alarming, systems specifications).- Provided quarterly service reviews on Zayo’s performance per region to each wireless customer. Identified and implemented corrective measures and performance intiatives to reduce service disruptions.- Developed relationship with all key vendors and wireless carrier personnel to influence process changes to expedite the isolation and repair of outages. The aforementioned intiatives reduced MTTR by over 2 hours

Managed team of 12 technicians on the installation, provisioning and testing and acceptance of cell sites. Implemented new process to facilitate additional production to meet the high demand of the fast growing wireless sector. Ensure each cell site and associated circuit met Zayo standards for every site and circuit before they could be delivered to customers to ensure “hassle free” activation for Zayo customers.Responsible for the installation of nodes at cell site locations to provide wireless backhaul services to all major wireless carries nationwide. Provisioned circuits per carrier’s specification on SONET and Ethernet platforms, SONET transmuxes and router depending on the bandwidth and technology requested by the customers. (DS1’s, DS3’s, OC-12’s, 50 – 300 MB Ethernet Circuits per cell site)

• Managed over 8K Project Task hours on preparation, deployment and installation of Software Releases (upgrades) and required hardware replacement needs, in multiple platforms with a total cost >$14M. The projects, performed “in house” saved the company over $4M in installation service cost from the equipment providers.• Assigned as Subject Matter Expert while consulting on Alarm Automation System creation and implementation on NOC systems to ensure accuracy of the system output.• Appointed to Quality Assurance Team during the UAT phase of project implementation to ensure 100% system compatibility and interface operations.• Created and managed 911 rate center database that significantly increased reliability by reducing outage and response time by 75%, while assuring the accuracy of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) reportable data.• Developed processes/procedures to streamline administrative and maintenance functions of the center to offset personnel shortages. The initiative allowed the 6 member team to successfully exceed the company’s 24/7 requirements.• Maintained 1300 network elements from Network Operations Center that produced above industry standard results of 99.999868% port availability.• Provided in-depth analysis for complex problems and administered corrective actions for difficult maintenance tasks.
