Edwin Wiffey, is a Nigerian/Cameroonian filmmaker, Activist, Public Health Graduate and Dramatist from Nigeria. He is an alumni of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF 2014 - 2015) Training Program, The Terra Kulture South South Writers Training Program for theater, and the first Scholar living in Africa of the Beth Morrison Project: Producers Academy in New York which is one of the leading Opera companies in America. He is a writer, producer, and Director. He has directed a documentary on the stories of women in politics in Cross River state in partnership with Gender And Development Action (GADA), Titled Switch on Her Mic 2021. He has also written, produced and directed three short films independently, Shattered Dialogue 2016 centered on HIV spousal testing, Battle of the Sexes that tells the story of gender inequality in a contemporary african society and Yours Truly, Monster 2022 that advocates for street kids and OVC. In December of 2021, He wrote, produced and directed his first Broadway theater musical production called “Sọ̀rọ̀ Sókè The Christmas Musical” which was an adaptation of the Christian nativity story into modern day Nigeria and the ENDSARS protest of 2020. In November 2022, He debuted his second musical centered on rape culture and gender disparity in an alternate reality where women are the superior gender titled “Fickle Game: the Insane Musical” at the Lagos Fringe Festival. A Panelist at African Pride Accelerated (APA) 2023 in his paper “Telling our way to Equality.”
