I am currently student teaching at both Christiansburg and Eastern Montgomery High Schools in General Biology and Dual Enrollment Anatomy & Physiology classes.

As a substitute teacher with Montgomery County Schools, I led classrooms while the head teacher was absent by following given lesson plans while adapting to unexpected situations. Through this position, I experienced a wide range of classrooms, students, teaching styles, and lesson planning guidelines.

As a shift supervisor at the Virginia Tech Math Emporium I motivated lab staff employees to perform job duties efficiently and effectively. I created evaluations for lab staff employees and oversaw weekly knowledge checks to ensure appropriate knowledge surrounding job duties. In addition, I ensured student integrity while overseeing the proctoring of collegiate level examinations.

I collaborated, co-taught, and oversaw classroom activities with my Cooperating Teacher and fellow Student Intern for 150 hours in a 7th Grade classroom. I developed engaging inquiry-based lesson plans that focused on problem-solving, effectively managed a diverse classroom with varying skill levels, provided structure and worked one-on-one with Exceptional Learners and English Language Learners, and provided descriptive feedback and graded student work. I also worked with classroom technology including Google Drive and Promethean Boards.
