The Wild Wonder Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to encouraging nature connection and conservation through attention, curiosity, art, science, and community. We strive to make nature and nature journaling accessible to everyone by sponsoring the annual Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Conference (see separate entry for details) as well as other events, educational workshops, field trips, teacher trainings, retreats, exhibits, grants, and other activities and projects in support of our mission. The birth of this foundation is a direct result of the 35+ years of dedicated work by award-winning author, educator, scientist, and artist John Muir Laws, a.k.a. Jack. He has created, nurtured, and grown a diverse, worldwide nature journaling community through his great generosity, inspired teaching, and boundless energy and joy.I work closely with John Muir Laws and our board to guide the vision, projects, events, marketing, and fundraising for this foundation.

I work with award-winning artist, author, naturalist, and educator John Muir Laws (www.johnmuirlaws.com) to create, manage, and promote the Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Conference, first held in September 2019. Event sponsors include Heyday Books (www.heydaybooks.com) and The Foster (https://www.thefoster.org/). In 2019, we held the event at the Mott Training Center on the campus of Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA, and it included 18 teachers, 78 classes and field trips, two happy hours, and three evening lectures. In 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, we held the event online, featuring 5 full days with a 30-member teaching team offering a rich schedule of classes, workshops, and lectures.
