Aziba Ekio is a writer, content developer, and strategist at Takeout Media with over 4 years in marketing communications, brand storytelling and production. Leading a team of creatives, she is responsible for developing and overseeing campaigns, leveraging unconventional and imaginative storytelling, data and industry trends.She has developed several advocacy campaigns centered on climate action and environmental rights such as the “Plastic Suffocates” featured on international media, Ads of the World and “Suitable Nigeria,” which increased awareness on an air pollution hazard persistent in indigenous Nigerian communities, amongst others.She has recently emerged as a winner of the Young Climate Prize 2023 anchored by The World for bringing light to the climate crisis through the written and spoken word. The poems address the emotional and socio-economic sequels of ecological concerns and connect the experiences of neglected communities in the Global South with the hopes of inspiring collective action.
