Working at a national level and leading on the Clinical Systems across Virgin Care, I was responsible for the five-year patient and clinical systems strategy, as well as the key stakeholder for development and delivery of clinical systems. My team held the principle service management responsibility for clinical systems, on-going delivery and business as usual. We provided a high quality support service to our customers. We identified, procured and configured systems, provided training and support, and developed a network of System Wizards and Data Captains to support data quality improvement. I provided expert knowledge in the development and engagement in commercial bids. I delivered both consistency and innovation into the service design process and participated in bidder interviews. I am responsible for delivering financial models that ensure service acquisitions meet financial targets.I have ownership of our key vendor relationships, which include all community clinical systems suppliers; TPP, EMIS, Servelec, Advanced, System C, Idox Health and Mayden. I led and/or supported key negotiations, contract enforcement and roadmap planning.I successfully developed and set the national team strategy.

2015 Electronic Patient Record Procurement Project – Completed July 2015Dorset HealthCare undertook an OJEU procurement to replace the MH EPR in 2015. I managed the procurement process and subsequent deployment. Working with London Procurement Partnership and Southern Trusts, ensured procurement meets UK legislation and EU law. I managed contract meetings, liaising with lawyers, procurement experts and relationship management with supplier.Concurrently, working on the deployment of the Results Reporting module for RiO interfacing 5 laboratories with the trust integration engine Mirth, and RiO. Installation of Wi-Fi at various trust sites, evaluation of and procurement of small form netbooks, video and telephone conferencing facilities along with delivering the mobile working strategy. RiO R2 Deployment – Completed July 2014RiO Mental Health system was procured as part of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT). As a requirement of the contract, Dorset HealthCare were required to upgrade to RiO Release 2 in July 2014. 2,300 end users were upgraded. Upgrade of Windows XP to Windows 7 – Completed April 2014Upgrade of 4,000+ users from Windows XP to Windows 7 at all sites across Dorset. This was a full project life cycle over a three-month timescale using two suppliers across two locations. RiO R1.1 Deployment – Completed March 2013Dorset HealthCare merged with Dorset Community Healthcare Services in July 2011. The trusts were using different IT solutions for mental health services. 1,700 users in East Dorset were upgraded from RiO V 5 to Rio 1.1 on the 29th January 2013. 600 users in West Dorset were migrated to RiO in West Dorset over 7 phases between July 2012 and March 2013. This affected 2,300 end users.McKesson Child Health – Completed 2012Dorset Healthcare merged with Dorset Community Healthcare Services in July 2011. The project delivered a combined EPR using McKesson Child Health system.

I provided project management and administrative support to the Prison Health Development Team. Responsibilities included leading on specific projects, setting and maintaining action plans, scheduling and chasing for updates, taking minutes. In June 2004, I was responsible for the project management of a regional prisons conference. Tasks included researching potential delegates, sourcing relevant speakers, managing the registration process, drafting and producing the information packs. In order to demonstrate the concept of telemedicine, I organised a live digital link to connect with Dr David Ellis, MD, Director of Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics at the Erie County Medical Center, New York, USA. Dr Ellis was the leading expert on Telehealth and in 2004 the demonstration of a link via the internet was ground-breaking. The conference, which had over 200 delegates, was a huge success and the main speaker was Dr Stephen Ladyman, Junior Minister for Health.
