Ekta Sethi is the founder of Rungg, a sustainable luxury brand with a focus on artisan-made hand techniques. Dedicated to Artisan craftsmanship, Sustainability, and Cruelty-Free fashion, all her designs are handmade, with a deliberate purpose to empower craftsmanship and Art. The brand was established in the US in 2017 via a successful Kickstarter campaign. Ekta started Rungg with a desire to create a shoe that is stylish yet comfortable, that marries the present and the past; that is majestic yet relaxed. Her inspiration has primarily been in nature and its magnanimity. Her shoes are admired by women that love Bold, colorful, one-of-a-kind designs. Her commitment to creating products that are conscious, sustainable, and honoring Art is evident through-out all her collections and is part of the brand’s ethos. Ekta was born in Delhi and educated in India and the USA. In addition to her business and passion for fitness, she has a masters degree in Computer Science and Bachelors in Mathematics. She studied Fashion Design at Kent State University along with courses at Stanford University.

-Responsible for significant research on various cruelty-free raw materials available for use within the footwear industry.-Worked with multiple suppliers and manufacturers worldwide on several existing options and selection of material for Rungg.-Researched the fashion trends, raw material, and consumer behavior through industry publications, conferences, and trade shows (The MICAM, Lineapelle, Sapica). -Tested within the organization the application, suitability of fabric, and sustainable material with the end product.-Worked with various material testing partners to check for material permeability, absorption, strength,and application.  Conducted a global consumer survey on awareness and acceptance toward sustainable luxury fashion.-Worked with FDDI for material testing, in collaboration with PFI Germany and Bally Switzerland, affiliated with DAKKS Germany SATRA certified.- Achieved material and product approval and certification from PETA, APMA, and Serta within sustainable fashion.
