Director - Special Projects - Commercial Insurance State ManagementLiberty Mutual Insurance Apr 2012 - Jun 2013Boston, Ma, UsI initially managed the Middle Market Workers' Compensation strategy for the Northeast Division in the newly created State Management organization. The Northeast comprises some of Liberty Mutual's largest and most challenging markets (including NY, MA, and NJ), and the role brought greater focus and accountability at the state level with a focus on turning data-driven insights into strategy and action. I leveraged analytical tools to identify areas of opportunity by class and territory within each state as well as monitor industry and competitor performance. I worked with the DOIs of each state to represent Liberty's interests and to support rate filings and revisions.Following a company-wide reorganization, the State Management organization grew to manage all commercial lines and all market sizes, and I moved to the Director-Special Projects role, where I supported four regions in the West Division. I worked to build out our foundational frameworks for the new organization, with an enhanced focus on our small commercial book of business. I partnered with our Analytics team to create new metrics and executive reports that allowed us to identify the areas of greatest opportunity. Also, I managed the consolidation of the rate review process under State Management, which was previously handled my multiple internal groups.
