The Kumasi Hub, which is the Ghanaian Ashanti Region chapter of the Global Shapers Community, is a prestigious group of young achievers, entrepreneurs, changemakers, leaders and youth from diverse backgrounds selected from and around Kumasi. These shapers strive to make a positive impact through projects and regular engagement with thought leaders. The Kumasi Hub is strongly grounded in values of democracy, environmental sustainability, entrepreneurial solution-seeking, and respect and responsibility towards each other. Since its establishment early 2014, the Hub has been on an iterative journey to improve the state of the world as per the values of the World Economic Forum and the Global Shapers Community.\Shapers in the Kumasi Hub are committed to the ideals of innovation, solution-seeking, self-improvement and knowledge-building, to represent the highest ideal of youth leadership, underscored by integrity, sustainability and creativity. There is no such thing as 'it can't be done' - instead, the Kumasi Hub believes in the energy generated from the sharing and evolution of ideas, and from capitalizing on the shared excitement of seeing solutions and potentialities which emerge from our discussions.\Each Shaper is empowered to conceptualize and lead their own project within the Hub. Kumasi meets once a month for substantive meetings, and Shapers can also host additional meetings if required. Communication happens online. Shapers are able to attend World Economic Forum events and interact with the wider network of Shapers and Curators

Challenges Worldwide is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to reduce poverty and encourage development in local communities by helping businesses to grow. Over the 10 week placement working with my UK counterpart to provide consultancy services to YB foods, an enterprise which processes and packages cereal and other Ghanaian spices "shito and Wheat cereal, with the aim of helping them to become better able to compete, as well as implementing necessary steps for future growth.The first half of the placement was dedicated to analyzing the enterprise, its competitors, products, and markets via different means (e.g. PEST, SWOT analysis) before presenting recommendations to the owner. Implementations which were undertaken during the remaining weeks were:- Developing a pricing strategy - Outlining potential cost savings (particularly for labelling)- Summarising customer research - Incorporating a new accounting platform- Pitching to key shop managers within the city to get a partnership-Create a social media platform for the product-Complete re-branding of the product- Create a marketing/advertising video to increase brand presence online
