Some events are in different industries, some are on different continents, some had to be moved online due to Covid—In all cases, I’m fully responsible for the smooth running of events. I prepare. I do my upmost to ensure events go off without a hitch because of careful care and planning. From exhaustive content research, to industry mapping, to establishing the business case to stakeholders and effectively managing my production team; my events are carefully planned ahead and adapted to changing circumstances. I people-manage. I’ve ensured the day-to-day running of the team and led project teams across the key portfolios being responsible for training, recruitment, and mentoring. I also work very closely with the marketing, sponsorships, and telesales teams from the brief to the delivery stage of the event, keeping the customer first and engaging in sales calls where required. I plan for the future. Far from being a passive actor, I actively seek out where industries are moving and plan portfolios to take advantage. This is how I envisioned and have produced numerous events; making it a key part of the strategy.
